The midweek Lyme Regis daydash is a long standing club tradition, but after nearly seven years in the club this was the first time I’ve actually managed to get to one! It was well worth the wait though.
The trip was ably organised by Andy Dale, who had even managed to arrange for the sun to shine (but not too hot) and the sea to be flat. We started off diving the Baygitano in the morning, which was full of life, with pretty good visibility. After lunch in Lyme we did an interesting drift dive over a mix of rocky and sandy bottom, during which I met my first Undulate Ray. Afterwards we had fish and chips on the lively sea front in Lyme, accompanied by a not at all bad busker. It felt like a proper summer holiday, before dashing back to work the next day.
